This couple that you see has waited 35 years to be able to dance to this song together. And tonight it finally happened! They wanted to dance their first dance as husband and wife 35 years ago to “their” song, Ricky Skaggs’ #1 country hit, “I Wouldn’t Change You If I Could,” but were not able to. The wife, Carla, reached out to see if Ricky Skaggs would play that song as they attended their first Ricky Skaggs concert. Ricky Skaggs and his band made it happen, as Ricky told the audience about their story and request, then invited them to come dance to their tune! She said there were many tearful eyes as she felt the audience understood that “their song” started them on the road to a 35 years and counting married lifetime relationship.
