See photos below of the Grand Ole Opry celebrating the 35th Anniversary of Ricky Skaggs being inducted as a member!
The night was celebrated with a special cake backstage during intermission where Ricky accepted a plaque from Sally Williams, the new GM of the Opry. His wife, Sharon White and her family band, The Whites, performed earlier in the show and were in attendance as both Ricky and Sharon cut the cake. On stage, Ricky shared some of his memories and played a set of 5 songs, including some of his #1 country hits. He sang “Honey (Open That Door)” with Sharon and her sister Cheryl harmonizing with him on stage and performed “Toy Heart” accompanied on piano by his father-in-law, the ever energetic 86 year old showman, Buck White. The show ended with Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder receiving a standing ovation as the curtains fell on the historic stage.
Congratulations Ricky – we are so proud of you and all of your accomplishments!
